This accretion consists of inmate case files from Otisville (15 cu. ft.), Mid-Orange (12 cu. ft.), Great Meadow (11 cu. ft.), Hudson (4 cu. ft.), Taconic (10 cu. ft.), Mt. McGregor (4 cu. ft.), and Arthur Kill (49 cu. ft.) correctional facilities. In addition to the 2 per cent case file sample, prisoners receiving life sentences, prisoners of certain ethnic groups, prisoners who died in custody, and sex offenders are included. Many of the inmates categorized as having received life sentences actually received two years to life and were generally released on parole after serving a minimum sentence. No women inmates are represented in this accretion.
